What is Gonadorelin (GnRH)?

Is gonadorelin FDA-approved?
It was, as a human drug (Factrel for pituitary diagnostic testing and Lutrepulse for pulsatile fertility therapy). Those branded products are now discontinued in the US, so current supply is prepared by compounding pharmacies.
Why do men on TRT use gonadorelin?
Testosterone therapy suppresses the body's own LH and FSH, which can shrink the testes and reduce fertility. Pulsed gonadorelin restimulates that signal to help preserve testicular function. This is an off-label, compounded use.
Is it the same as hCG?
No. hCG mimics LH and acts directly on the testes. Gonadorelin acts one level up, prompting the pituitary to release its own LH and FSH, so it keeps more of the natural axis in the loop.
